What We Do
VIEW offers a network for women to connect with each other in the community, while supporting the work of The Smith Family in providing long-term educational support for Australian children and young people living with disadvantage.
VIEW members meet regularly to provide a social outlet, to help others, to establish lasting friends and contribute to the local community.
VIEW makes an impact in four significant ways.
Fundrasing

VIEW raises much needed funds for The Smith Family
Through a variety of fundraising activities and social events in local communities, members raise money that goes directly to The Smith Family's learning and mentoring programs to support the education of Australian children and young people so they can overcome educational inequality caused by poverty.
In 2023-24, VIEW members raised $1.35 million for The Smith Family's programs.
Volunteering
VIEW members volunteer to support The Smith Family
VIEW members volunteer their time and talents to support The Smith Family in many ways.
Volunteering roles include:
- helping at Smith Family after-school Learning Clubs
- reading to children in schools
- using craft skills to make resources for students
- sting in local Smith Family offices with administration and office tasks to ensure the smooth running of programs for students and families
VIEW Women volunteer their time to help children living with disadvantage, so that every child has the opportunity to change their future through education.
Virtual Volunteering – Some VIEW members also enjoy volunteering virtually using a secure online system to review Learning for Life student profiles.
