The Smith Family has been working with KWM since 1993 – supporting young Australians in need so they can make the most of their education and realise their potential.

Through this strategic partnership, and particularly through the remarkable financial contribution made to The Smith Family through KWM’s Workplace Giving program, DigDeep®, we have been able to achieve so much.

Most importantly, we have been able to support the education of many children and young people living in poverty.

Another fantastic initiative borne from this partnership is the KWM School of Opportunity™ – a collaboration to create a holistic work placement and skills development program designed for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, in each of the firm’s Australian offices.

KWM School of Opportunity™ provides participating students from our Learning for Life tertiary scholarship program with the chance to undertake 30-day paid work placements within a global top-tier law firm, in addition to skills-building training, networking, mentoring and further developmental opportunities with key corporate stakeholders, such as ANZ.

KWM School of Opportunity™ is a wonderful example of how an employer can help a young person to change their future by giving students paid work experience and opening them up to opportunities and networks that help them build and achieve their career aspirations.
