MoneyMinded: boosting adult financial literacy
MoneyMinded was developed by ANZ in conjunction with the NSW Department of Education and Training and an advisory committee including Financial Counselling Australia (FCA), the Financial Counsellors Association of NSW (FCAN), the Australian Securities Commission (ASIC) and community sector representatives.
MoneyMinded is a free program to help you improve your clients’ financial literacy and skills.
When people can better manage their finances, they can get on top of spending, set savings goals, and plan for the future. Being financially literate is also linked to better other benefits, such as overall wellbeing, lower stress levels and improved health.

This is one of the most valuable training courses I have completed; I recommend it to all my work colleagues. It also changed my personal finances for the better.
Australia’s largest adult financial education program
Designed specifically for community sector professionals, MoneyMinded gives you the knowledge you need to help your clients become more confident when it comes to their finances.
If you are a community educator, financial counsellor or volunteer, MoneyMinded provides practical tools to help your clients reach their goals and aspirations, so they can better support themselves and their loved ones.
How the program works
The program begins with two hours of online work. This is followed by one day of face-to-face training, along with access to training videos, support resources and newsletters.
The program covers topics such as:
- goal-setting and budgeting
- credit providers
- dealing with debt
- everyday banking options
- tenancy and homeownership
- superannuation.
Once you are trained as a MoneyMinded coach, you’ll be supported with: access to the MoneyMinded Hub, where you’ll find information on more than 100 financial education topics; over 200 interactive participant handouts; and case studies to familiarise you with real-life situations.
